Farmers Market Season
In the Greater Boston area we are lucky to have year-round opportunities to visit farmers markets, but nothing can top the excitement of the coming of spring and the start to the full outdoor market season. Just take a quick look at the listings here and you can see that there is almost no excuse not to visit a market during the spring and summer. There are more than 200 markets across the state this year.
Whether you’re a regular or have never been, I would encourage you to visit one of your local markets. You might be surprised and delighted by what you find - local farmers markets aren’t just for freshly harvested fruits and vegetables anymore.
Stop by almost any market and you’ll find a wide variety of vendors. You’ll see the traditional farm stand booths – with items like tomatoes, greens, corn, and berries. But you’ll also meet food entrepreneurs with prepared salads, jams, baked goods, smoked fish, and more. Almost every market around the Boston area has booths with freshly made cheese and locally raised meats. With the availability of so many diverse products, it is easy to make the farmers market your one-stop-shopping destination.
You’ll find me visiting my local favorites and farmers markets on my spring and summer travels. I love to shop and I love to meet and learn more about the vendors. Here are just a few of my favorite stops:
Wayland Summer Farmers Market
Framingham Farmers Market
Natick Farmers Market
Copley Square Farmers Market
Westborough Farmers Market
Hudson Farmers Market
If you’re interested in participating in markets as a vendor but aren’t sure where to start, send me a note. I’d love to learn more about you and your goals and help you find the right market!
Interested in meeting up for a lap around a market together? I’m always happy to network & connect over food! Be in touch!
